These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TrueSella, a trust and reputation service for social commerce, operated by Taskit Technology Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) in Nigeria. By using TrueSella on WhatsApp, the web portal, or related channels, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About TrueSella
TrueSella helps buyers check vendor reputation and helps vendors build trust through verification, reviews, and referrals. The Service is provided for informational purposes to support safer social-commerce decisions. TrueSella does not process buyer–seller payments, act as an escrow agent, or guarantee that any transaction will succeed.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under Nigerian law. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that information you provide is accurate.
3. Accounts and identity
- On WhatsApp, your identity is linked to your WhatsApp phone number.
- On the web portal, you sign in with your phone number and password.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your phone and WhatsApp account secure.
- You must not impersonate another person, use false contact details, or attempt to bypass verification or rate limits.
4. Buyer use
As a buyer, you may:
- Look up vendors by phone number, Instagram handle, or bank account name
- View trust scores, verification status, and reviews where available
- Submit honest reviews and optional supporting evidence
- Refer vendors not yet on TrueSella
Trust scores are calculated using available data and statistical models. They are indicators, not guarantees of future behaviour. You remain responsible for your own purchasing decisions.
5. Vendor use and verification
Vendors who register or verify through TrueSella agree to:
- Provide accurate business and identity information
- Complete KYC where required, including consent to identity checks
- Not misrepresent verification status, reviews, or affiliation with TrueSella
- Accept that material profile changes (such as bank account name) may reset verification pending re-review
Verification means we have completed certain checks at a point in time. It does not mean Taskit Technology Limited endorses every product, price, or delivery promise a vendor makes.
6. Referrals and rewards
Referral programmes, reward amounts, and payout rules may change from time to time. Rewards are earned only when stated conditions are met (for example, when a referred vendor completes verification). Payouts require valid bank details and may be subject to minimum balances, fraud review, and third-party payment processing times. We may withhold or reverse rewards where abuse or error is suspected.
7. Reviews and content
You must not post content that is:
- False, misleading, defamatory, or malicious
- Harassing, hateful, or unlawful
- Infringing on another party’s rights
- Designed to manipulate scores or circumvent fraud controls
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been violated. Vendors cannot review their own businesses through the Service.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service
- Use automated tools to send bulk lookups or OTP requests
- Attempt unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or data
- Use TrueSella for fraud, money laundering, or illegal activity
- Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent
9. Third-party services
TrueSella relies on third parties including WhatsApp/Meta, identity verification providers, payment processors, and SMS gateways. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. Taskit Technology Limited is not responsible for outages or actions of third parties outside our reasonable control.
10. Intellectual property
TrueSella, its branding, software, trust methodologies, and content are owned by Taskit Technology Limited or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for personal or legitimate business purposes in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without permission.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data. By using TrueSella, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. TASKIT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT SCORES, LOOKUP RESULTS, OR VERIFICATION STATUS ARE COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TASKIT TECHNOLOGY LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF TRUESELLA OR ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN BUYERS AND VENDORS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO TASKIT FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ₦10,000, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Taskit Technology Limited, its directors, employees, and partners from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, pose a security or fraud risk, or if required by law or a platform partner. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will continue to apply.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
